Meditation for L.A. Activists, July 2017

UCLA Labor Center and Gift of Compassion partnered to present a workshop, Self-Care for Social Change.   This collaboration was designed to offer social change and social justice organizers the opportunity to experience several different modalities of healing and self-care through art, meditation, tai chi, chi gong, yoga, and other practices.   Also joining the host planning committee were two other groups, Abide in Awareness (a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing healing through energetic and qui gong practice) and TeAda Productions (a Pacific Islander production company that promotes creative self-care through performance art).  In November 2016, the collaboration co-created a day-long workshop that gave individuals access to learning practices that can be part of their daily life routines.
