ON THE MOVE and VOICES – Youth development

Preparing for community presentation on meditation as a personal care practice

Led by former foster youth, VOICES (Voicing Our Independent Choices for Emancipation Support – a project of On the Move) in Sonoma County was created to support young adults emerging from foster care systems in northern California. A group of seven individuals from diverse backgrounds worked together for 9 months in developing basic skills in meditation, collaboration, and self-awareness. This program was the template for the Gift of Compassion’s current work in Los Angeles county. To see the effect of the work and the comments from the VOICES project, you can watch it here.
